Library involvement at the initial stage of your project is critical and will contribute to the quality of your research.

Library staff are available for consultation to:

  • formulate your research question
  • select relevant databases and resources
  • assist with developing a search strategy in your primary database
  • review and refine your search
  • advise on reference management
  • teach you how to locate full-text articles
  • guide with translating the search strategy to other databases
  • locate research impact for grant applications.

Make an appointment for an assisted search free of charge for up to an hour. Please bring:

  • A research question that clearly outlines the various concepts, for example PICO.
  • A selection of relevant or key citations or papers on your topic; publication date should be prior to current year.

Alternatively, have an expert perform the search on your behalf and provide you with the results*, saving you the time and frustration, whether it's for an essay, assignment, thesis, a simple background search, or a systematic review.
